Tricks Supports the Community and Sustainability by Providing Local Organic Produce

For years weíve used fresh produce from Sunizona Family Farms in Willcox for our award-winning and seasonally inspired menus. Now weíre making the same organically grown produce available to others by becoming a pick-up location for Sunizonaís popular FarmBox program, a system that brings fresh fruits and vegetables directly from the farm to the kitchen.

By supporting the FarmBox program, weíre not only making our local economy stronger, but helping our community to be healthier, too. Itís a win-win for all involved. The produce is top-quality and is grown with sustainable, certified organic growing practices. Weíre happy to make it available and affordable here in Tempe.

"We're excited to announce House of Tricks as our latest partner in this new direct-to-consumer program. It just makes sense for both the farm and FarmBox member to avoid middlemen and price hikes, but the program is also better for the environment and for the local economy,î says Evan Storey, FarmBox program manager for Sunizona Farms. ìHouse of Tricks has also long supported these community-oriented causes, so it's only natural that we continue to collaborate.î

For as little as $22 per week, a box of organically grown fruits and vegetables is delivered for pick-up at Tricks on Tuesdays and Fridays. The selection is based on season and availability. An example of a typical FarmBox for 1-2 persons might include vine-ripened tomatoes, assorted greens, eggplant, bell pepper, green beans, cucumber and cabbage, though selections can be customized as well.

Sunizona Family Farms goes beyond organic with ëveganicí growing practices that are free from the use of animal products, employing strictly plant-based materials. This type of growing reduces the risk of contamination from animal-related diseases, hormones and chemicals. The farm sells nearly all of their products locally.
